The original P228 has an almost cult following among Sig fans, due it being discontinued. Someone at Sig thought putting P228 grips on the M11-A1 would lend it some street cred. After the ridicule from those customers who knew the difference, and the fact that it still had satisfactory sales numbers, they started putting the P229 grips on it.The M11-A1 was introduced with the P229-1 frame and never had the P228 frame. I think I recall that some of the early P229-1 framed 9mm P229s came with 13 rd mags because of a shortage of P229-1 mags at the time. I guess they needed more room to build 63,000 variations of 938's.Sights are often upgraded to fiber optics or Tritium, However, the author made the choice to stick with stock sights but add a Crimson Trace Laser Grip. The M11-A1 tapes out at 7.1x 5.4 x 1.5 inches and tips the scales at 32 ounces. That is more than suitable for easy concealment in civilian clothes or business attire.
